Job Title: Electrical Procurement Engineer (Construction)
Job Description:
The Electrical Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement of electrical materials, systems, and equipment for construction projects. This role involves reviewing technical specifications, identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices and delivery terms, and ensuring that all procured items meet quality and project requirements. The engineer works closely with the design, engineering, and project management teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project drawings and specifications to determine material requirements.
Source, evaluate, and select vendors for electrical items such as cables, panels, lighting, switchgear, etc.
Prepare and issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to meet construction schedules.
Ensure materials comply with technical and safety standards.
Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
Track inventory and coordinate logistics with warehouse and site teams.
Resolve any discrepancies related to delivery, quality, or documentation.
Maintain procurement records and generate reports for project management.
Support cost control and value engineering efforts.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.3+ years of experience in procurement within the construction industry.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and international standards.Proficient in procurement software (ERP systems), MS Office, and technical documentation.Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
