ABOUT FMF

The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen since 2012, even during the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war.

To date, we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen, helping them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Team Leader, the Project Manager oversees the implementation and supervision of project activities, ensuring timely and high-quality planning, implementation, reporting, and monitoring/evaluation. They adhere to sector-specific SOPs, guidelines, Sphere standards, and ethical values.

The Project Manager is accountable for the efficient financial management of the project, following FMF's model and donor regulations. They also supervise HR and logistics arrangements in collaboration with relevant departments.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the planning, implementation, and monitoring/evaluation of the project, setting targets as described in the project plan.
  • Guarantee efficient financial management in compliance with FMF’s model and donor regulations.
  • Manage project implementation according to the proposal, donor agreement, and FMF’s policies and guidelines, ensuring high-quality outcomes delivered on time and within scope.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation for smooth and timely implementation of activities.
  • Oversee project activities, including kick-offs, planning, and reporting, while adhering to sector guidelines.
  • Review and prepare detailed activity plans and establish clear reporting and communication lines.
  • Provide capacity building and on-the-job coaching to project teams, evaluating their performance and conducting regular planning meetings.
  • Motivate and lead a diverse team, developing comprehensive project plans and monitoring tools.
  • Prepare regular project updates for FMF and donors, ensuring sector guideline adherence.
  • Manage project finances and procurement, monitoring expenditures against plans and addressing deviations promptly.
  • Perform risk management to minimize risks and develop contingency plans for potential problems.
  • Maintain strong relationships and representation with INGOs, NNGOs, relevant clusters, and local authorities.
  • Collaborate with the MEAL department to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
  • Hold final responsibility for project documentation, including verification and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and high-quality reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and final) according to donor regulations.
  • Deliver regular project communication materials for FMF’s communication department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field with a strong management background.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing health and nutrition projects, preferably with INGOs/NGOs.
  • Experience managing GMS systems.
  • Proficiency in project cycle management and budget management.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in team management and motivation.
  • Detail-oriented and organized approach to tasks.
  • Proactive and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver quality results in stressful environments.
