GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the CP Officer, the CP field assistant will be responsible for the quality implementation of the CP activities according to the given work plan concerning to the Safe space which locates in the health facilities and mobile team, supervising various training sessions, providing support to CP Social workers , PSS facilitators and ensuring the efficient utilization of resources. while working in close and collaboration with BFD’s team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the establishment of the Safe spaces in the targeted areas. 
  • Assist in managing the safe spaces, health facilities and mobile team and supervise the activities.
  • Assist in supervising PSS training, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) sessions, Families Make the Difference sessions for caregivers (FMD), Supporting Adolescents and their Families in Emergencies (SAFE) and Caregivers Matter curriculum. 
  • Supervise the CP Social workers and PSS facilitators and provide on job training and technical support.
  • Work with social workers to ensure that CP case management standards are adhered to, and when appropriate, provide direct CP case management and PSS.
  • Ensure supplies/resources for counseling spaces, women centers, and other program activities are requested on a timely manner and are efficiently utilized.
  • Work with the Prevention Officer to develop daily and weekly plan based on case trends and need of Children and adolescents. 
  • Work in coordination with external actors, to improve the CP referral pathway. 
  • Assist the CP Officer in maintaining positive coordination and relationships with CP actor and services providers. 
  • Contribute and assist to develop and conduct training, and workshop for BFD staff, volunteers and CP actors on response activities.
  • Assist in coordinating and communicating with the stakeholders to ensure safe and accessible programing.
  • Contribute to preparing the monthly spending, procurement, and work plans.
  • Assist the CP Officer in preparing the monthly spending, procurement, and work plans.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned by CP Officer.

Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS): The role holder is required to carry out the duties in adherence to the Core Humanitarian Standards, the values and principles outlined in BFD's policies such as Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, Anti-Retaliation and other internal policies and guidelines.

Required Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social study, Child Development, Psychology, International Development or a related field.
  • Proven experience in implementing and monitoring child protection activities, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Familiarity with child safeguarding measures, case management approaches and child-friendly methodologies.
  • Experience in community engagement, capacity building and child participation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software for data collection, and reporting
