About the Executive Bureau (EB);

The Executive Bureau (EB) of Yemen is a government agency that was established in 2013 with the aim of accelerating aid absorption and supporting policy reforms. The EB plays an important role in the country's development efforts by providing technical support to government institutions and working to improve institutional capacity.
Accelerating aid absorption: The EB supports the efforts to accelerate the aid absorption and implementation of projects in Yemen. This involves building the capacity of government agencies to identify and prioritize projects, and to remove any obstacles that may be hindering their implementation.
Supporting policy reforms: The EB supports the implementation of key policy reforms in Yemen. This involves supporting studies and research to develop proposals for reforms in high priority areas, and working with government agencies to implement these proposals.
Providing technical support: The EB provides technical support to government institutions in a number of areas, including project management, communication, and building partnerships, this helps government agencies to improve their ability to deliver services to the public. The EB provides trainings and capacity building to develop and implement systems and procedures for aid management and MLE.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and update the EB media and communication strategy and associated work plan, including strategies to enhance partnerships with international donors.
  • Develop communication plans to support EB efforts to accelerate aid absorption and support policy reforms.   
  • Develop and prepare short videos, press releases, and other media materials with high proficiency.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with media agencies, journalists and partners.
  • Coordinate and support the EB manager press conferences, media events, and promotional activities.
  • Manage and monitor social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and community management.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and information dissemination.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
  • Develop and implement communication campaigns and events.
  • Provide support in managing and responding to crises, including media inquiries and public statements.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.

Competencies

  • Knowledge of current theories and practices in communication research, planning and strategy, and the role of mass media. 
  • General ability to express clearly and concise ideas and concepts in written and oral form; specific skills in writing press releases and articles/stories for traditional and electronic media. 
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas, as well as impart knowledge and teach skills.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications, including internet navigation, various office applications, and specifically, interactive digital media.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and provide strategic vision and leadership.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Master degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations; or in a related field.  
  • Five years progressively responsible professional work experience in advocacy and communication, print and broadcast media or interactive digital media.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic languages.
