Duration:  Till June 30, 2024, renewable based on fund availability & performance

ADRA Yemen is undertaking programs in Yemen in the fields of health, nutrition, WASH, food security, livelihoods, and protection.

SUMMARY:

Secretary/Translator will ensure that the office runs smoothly and efficiently. He/she will provide clerical and administrative support, assist office personnel and optimize workflow. He/she will be the primary point of contact for all manners of inquiries and requests and will convert information from one language into another language (written/verbal).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The “Secretary/Translator” will be responsible but not limited to:

  • Answer telephone, screens and direct calls and takes phone messages.
  • Provide information to callers.
  • Welcome guests and ensure guiding them to the person of concern.
  • Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of the office.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support.
  • Type official letters and file them as soft and hard copy.
  • Maintain the reception area organized.
  • Take minutes and prepare action points when needed.
  • Assist in evaluating stationery and office supplies in a daily and monthly basis.
  • Maintain fax, phone, and photocopier records.
  • Scan, print and copy documents when needed. 
  • Translate/interpret information from Arabic to English and vice versa when needed. 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or any related field is required.
  • Minimum one year of direct experience in Secretary / Translator Position, preferably in humanitarian NGOs.
  • Excellent English and Arabic Languages (Writing and speaking) are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
