About Al Manasa Al Shababya Foundation:

Al Manassa Al Shababya is a Yemeni non-profit organization, based in Aden, leading projects that focus on digital media for social change. The foundation is operating though its digital platform Manasati30 focusing on young Yemenis in the age group of 15-35 years old in all Yemeni governorates. Manasati30 co-creates media content with youth to youth on various socio-economic topics, health, culture and good governance. Through its multiple platforms, young people have access to inclusive content, and a space to connect and share their aspirations and opinions on topics that matter to them.

Summary of the job:

Al Manassa Al Shababya is looking for a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment for the position of Grants Officer. Under the direction of the Executive Board, the Grants Officer will take the lead in writing and developing grant proposals to donors in order to obtain funding for Al Manassa Al Shababya activities. In addition, she/he will be responsible for compliance with donors’ policies, guidelines, rules and regulations. The Grants Officer will collaborate with Finance to ensure effective grantmaking processes. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Manasati30 work, programs and priority funding areas and remain well-informed of current activities.
  • Responsible for writing, developing and implementing grant proposals. 
  • Facilitate grant efforts which includes grant approval process and post-award compliance. 
  • Constant follow up to ensure timelines are met.
  • Collect necessary information and data for grants and grant reporting.
  • Develop outlines, timelines, staffing, and budgets templates for grants according to donors’ guidelines.
  • Follow up and monitor outstanding grant proposals with potential funding donors as necessary.
  • Review progress reports of all projects to ensure the grant holders are implementing grants to achieve agreed objectives in a timely manner and in-keeping with good practices.
  • Work with the teams including Finance department to ensure grants compliance, budgets, and payments are accurate and timely.
  • Act as the key contact for donors.
  • Check that criteria for reviewing reports are well-defined and reviewed on a regular basis. 
  • Create timely reports and narrative documents for donors.
  • Track and file grants information to ensure data accuracy for reporting and proposal development purposes.
  • Any other work assigned by the Executive Board.

Required Qualifications:

  • University Degree or minimum of 2  or 3 years of experience at Management  Public Affairs, Communications, Financial or any related field with local or international organization.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and developing grant proposals as well as reports.
  • Excellent working skills in MS office, excel and databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent command of English and Arabic, both written and spoken. 
  • Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks efficiently.
