About SDF:

The Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) is a non-governmental, voluntary, independent organization established in March 2015, officially registered at the Ministry of Social Affairs as per license (99). SDF has been present in Yemen since 2015, it has experience implementing emergency child protection and education responses, including women and youth empowerment. SDF has experience in handling large grants from international donors, such as UNDP, UNHCR, WFP, OCHA, WHO, SCI and ZOA. SDF has excellent national-level relations and has experience in coordinating with both national and international NGOs. It has offices, staff and community-based committees in Hajjah, Sana'a, Marib, Ibb, Hudidah, Dhamar, Almahweet, Al-Bayda’a, and Hadramout as well as solid experiences engaging with local communities from whom it gained acceptance and with whom it has collaborated in the past. In addition to that, SDF creates livelihood opportunities and community-based protection.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep up-to-date a map of existing services to which children and families can be referred to. Link case workers with service providers and support effective collaboration for referrals.
  • With the support of the protection officer, supervise and coach facilitators on the identification, assessment, documentation, case planning, referral (to relevant services) and follow-up of at-risk children and families, in line with Case Management SOPs.
  •  Ensure that Case Management activities are planned in accordance with the Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS), Case Management SoPs.
  • Support on-going capacity development of case management staff through training, coaching, mentoring and on-going technical support supervision and to ensure that case management follows applicable principles, SOPs and data protection protocols. facilitators with service providers and support    effective coordination, collaboration and networking with other service providers.
  • Receive all referred cases of vulnerable and at-risk children in and out the child friendly space (CFS), review whether they meet case management criteria and allocate cases to Social Workers to provide case management services according to their location, skills and experience.
  • Supervise and support the Social Workers in conducting case management services including referral and follow-up visits including family visits through on-going review of cases files and case plans, holding one-on-one meetings as well as review and approval of case closures to ensure all cases are managed well within acceptable timelines and quality.
  • Supervise, shadow coach and support the facilitators in family visits, in coordination with the Social Workers and project team.
  • Monitor and review individual cases, for example during regular case conferences, home visits or other monitoring visits (as required under the specific circumstances) with the aim to ensure timely and high-quality assistance.
  • Prepare progress reports with statistical and narrative information on identification, active caseload, closing of cases and any other activities; ensure that reports are timely, and of high quality.
  • Organize bi-weekly (at least) case management meetings with facilitators the participation of the protection officer.
  • Ensure that case workers respect confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines, SDF policies, Data Protection Guidelines and protocols
  • Ensure that files, registers and computer databases are used in an appropriate and correct manner and ensure facilitators adhere to proper documentation and data protection protocols
  • Work in close collaboration with the community mobiliser and PSS officer to strengthen our relationship with the community and to strengthen the referral system.
  •  Support documentation of case studies and case management experiences to contribute to learning and sharing in SDF.
  • Ensure constant and transparent internal and external communication and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including community members, community leaders and caregivers.
  • Conduct Case management Supervision and coaching for facilitators and project team.
  • Other tasks as requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or any related field with at least 2 years of practical experience in case management preferably with NGOs.
  • Knowledge of referrals mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of center-based approach and community-based approach
  • General Skills:
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software is essential (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High diplomacy, cultural sensitivity and security awareness
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong sense of neutrality
  • Attention to activity tracking detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work
  • independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
  • Sense of creativity is essential.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary is essential.
  • Excellent data analytical skills and interpretation.
