Role Overview:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring and evaluation activities of projects to ensure effective implementation, progress tracking, and impact assessment. The Officer will play a critical role in project planning, execution, and delivery by developing and implementing monitoring frameworks, conducting evaluations, and providing data-driven insights to improve project outcomes. This role is crucial for tracking project progress, assessing outcomes, and providing recommendations for project improvement. The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will work closely with the project team to ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are integrated into project planning, execution, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks for projects to track progress and measure impact.
  • Design data collection tools, surveys, and indicators to assess project performance and outcomes.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to ensure compliance with project activities and objectives.
  • Analyze project data and prepare reports on progress, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate with project teams to integrate monitoring and evaluation activities into project planning and implementation.
  • Lead the evaluation of project activities to assess effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Ensure that monitoring activities are conducted in accordance with project plans and timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate recommendations for project improvement.
  • Support the development of monitoring and evaluation plans, including setting targets and indicators.
  • Provide training and capacity-building on monitoring and evaluation best practices to project staff and partners.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in development projects or humanitarian aid programs.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation methodologies, data analysis tools, and reporting techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools.
  • Knowledge of international standards and best practices in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
  • Fluency in English is an advantage.
