GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE: He/she will be responsible for building relationships with local authorities and community leaders to ensure smooth and effective implementation of project interventions. Facilitating field coordination to ensure the project's interventions are running well, conducting regular field visits to monitor the progress activities, and collecting reports from Health Facilities (HFs), and preparing accurate and timely reports. Additionally, the project field focal point will closely monitor the activities of both the Health Facilities and the medical Mobile team to ensure their proper functioning. By fulfilling these duties, he will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's success and the achievement of desired outcomes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and oversee the implementation of the project activities in the field. 
  • Implement the related project health, nutrition, CHNVS ,CHWs field activities 
  • Monthly supervise and monitor the field activities in the targeted health facilities to ensure the quality of the services provided
  • Preparing and implementing a monthly plan for the regular supervision field visits of targeted HFs 
  • Assist in the effective implementation of child protection and women empowerment programs and activities, including awareness-raising campaigns, skill-building workshops, and support services provision, coordination with local authorities. 
  • Coordination with local authorities and related health offices in the related districts and governorates and participate in the authorities, GHO, and inter-agency coordination meetings.
  • Follow routine data collection and reporting; prepare weekly updates of provided services in related HFs 
  • Collecting of related monthly project document from the targeted health facilities
  • Follow up logistic supply and report for medication and medical equipment, supply and stationery for the related project warehouse and targeted HFs and MTs
  • Assist the Project team in the facilitation of job training for team members and HWs to strengthen their skills in provided services 
  • Ensures that staff practice the standard procedures and protocols and follow up their performance in health facilities and MTs
  • Follow-up of drug consumption and distribution compared to reported cases.
  • Raising the problems and obstacles that are encountered in health facilities and MTs, following up on their solution, and raising them to project management.
  • Providing support to the project team in the integration of health and nutrition activities with protection and other sectors 
  • Raising the actual needs of health facilities and MTs, including medicines, medical supply, and maintenance, after reviewing them and reporting them to the project administration
  • Work together with the project officers on developing and tracking work plans and action plans for the activities
  • Work together with Monitoring and Evaluation team to ensure progress towards established indicators.
  • Participate and lead needs assessment, analyze and organize data/information that related to targeted HFs.
  • Participates at the negotiations with the local communities, government authorities and leaders at the district level.
  • Participates with the Project team, in monthly project review meetings to discuss the obstacle and challenges in HFs, MT and follow up the activities in the project.
  • Ensure monthly regular updates (text, pictures, success stories from the field) to the project team in Sana’a office.
  • Notify the project management in the event of obstacles such as lack of discipline and absence of HWs, follow-up of the required documents to complete the necessary procedures
  • Commitment to career hierarchy and not to override the direct manager during raising or discussing obstacles or requirements from the field
  • Follow-up the referral cases and form from the HFs after reviewing them and completing all requirements according to the referral protocol and raising them to the project team in Sana’a office.
  • Review the working hours sheets of the health workers then raising them to the project team 
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s / diploma degree in a related field.
  • At least 1 years' experience working in the field
  • Have training in Health & and nutrition of primary health care services. 
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office
  • Show diplomacy, good communication, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities able to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Possess multicultural flexibility and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and good ability to make proactive suggestions
  • Calm, listens rigorously, able to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
  • Team player, and able to work independently.

Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS): The role holder is required to carry out the duties in adherence to the Core Humanitarian Standards, the values and principles outlined in BFD's policies such as Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, Anti-Retaliation and other internal policies and guidelines.
