About SDF: The Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) is a non-governmental, voluntary, independent organization established in March 2015, officially registered at the Ministry of Social Affairs as per license (99). As SDF has been present in Yemen since 2015, it has experience implementing emergency child protection and education responses, including women and youth empowerment. SDF has experience in handling large grants from international donors, such as UNDP, UNHCR, WFP, OCHA, WHO, SCI and ZOA. The Foundation has excellent national-level relations and has experience in coordinating with both national and international NGOs. It has offices, staff and community-based committees in Hajjah, Sana'a, Marib, Ibb, Hudidah, Dhamar, Almahweet, Al-Bayda’a, and Hadramout as well as solid experiences engaging with local communities from whom it gained acceptance and with whom it has collaborated in the past. In addition to that, SDF creates livelihood opportunities and community-based protection.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Weekly and monthly data entry of activities, statistics, and data received from the project activities.
  • Review, verify data and make corrections where necessary.
  • Conduct regular field visits if necessary to improve the data collection at the project activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports for external and internal stakeholders.
  • Fill project data and other required databases on a regular basis.
  • Maintain (Kobo, …) data collection tools and manage databases.
  • Collect supply consumption and other data from all the project activities and enter it into the database.
  • Respond to information requests and provide basic data analysis and findings on a weekly and monthly basis to project staff.
  • Archive files and organize them properly, ensure files are documented according to standards.
  • Ensure, promote, and maintain confidentiality regarding all information registered.
  • Perform data analysis and create graphs as requested by project management.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Direct Supervisor.
  • Provide assistance in programming surveys using ODK, Kobo Toolbox, Google forms and Survey monkey to different program teams.
  • Maintain and further develop the structure or format of different databases as required – depending on the different projects.
  • Provide daily remote helpdesk for field staff for any problems related to smart data collection tools (hard and soft).
  • Provide support to data entry and reporting officers for different issues: e.g. help with data cleaning to ensure that databases are accurate and free from error, demonstrate how to ensure proper backup, restore, data validation, and security procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitoring data uploading in KOBO server: ensure all data is entered and updated in the databases and tables.
  • Good knowledge solving problems of windows + MS office.
  • Good knowledge in installing, configuring, maintaining LAN and WAN.
  • Perform any other related duties as required, in support of the SDF IT Senior officer and Logistics department.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform regular computer system security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created.
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
  • Support staff in setting up SDF account.
  • Keep overview and monitor the use and access to SDF accounts.
  • Support technical advice and evaluation for procurement of IT materials and equipment & solar system.
  • Check and monitoring the performance for the solar system and security cameras in SDF offices.
  • Monitor the correct use of SDF assets and IT equipment, provide technical assistance when needed and monitor inventory and allocation of assets on monthly basis and support the logistics to do physical check for IT equipment quarterly.
  • Monitoring and tracking the IT stock and check the condition of IT assets with staff.
  • Support the Logistics staff and follow up with suppliers for any maintenance related to IT equipment.
  • Monitoring the internet credit balance of SDF offices and follow up with logistics to ensure the Internet bill is paid and the services is working well.
  • Good knowledge in installing and maintaining solar systems.
  • Good knowledge in using MikroTik systems.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.
  • Undertakes to fulfil these tasks and to respect and keep any confidential information relating to the local partners and SDF beyond the reach of any third party.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years in data management. Preferably in Humanitarian NGOs.
  • Competence in writing reports in English and Arabic.
  • Experience in health and nutrition data sector.
  • Very good in English (written and spoken).
  • Experience using KOBO and ODK, ONA and DHIS.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office programs, Excel, and database expert.
  • Analyzing data and report writing skills.
  • Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner.
  • Able to adapt communication strategies for different situations.
  • Minimum BA in information technology, computer sciences or any related studies.
  • At least 1 year of experience in IT department in suboffice of INGO.
  • Demonstrated experience in Monitoring data uploading in KOBO server: ensure all data is entered and updated in the databases and tables.
  • Good knowledge solving problems of windows + MS office.
  • Good knowledge in installing, configuring, maintaining LAN and WAN.
  • Excellent computer skills (proven computer literacy, Excel knowledge is a must) and good knowledge on computer soft and hardware.
  • Native Arabic Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Highly motivated, eager to learn and hard worker.
  • Other requirements:
    • Holder of a valid Yemeni driving license (since minimum 1 year).
    • Strong team spirit, comfortable in a multicultural environment.
    • Excellent analytical skills, observation and analysis capacity.
