Terms of Reference

  • Division: Programs. 
  • Location: Al Jawf.
  • Reports to: Project Manager.

Organization & Background:

A humanitarian, independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that works across Yemen. The organization provides direct assistance for conflict-affected populations, IDPs, host communities and vulnerable groups in the conflict areas. The organization, in partnership with international agencies, takes action during crisis situations in order to alleviate the sufferings of the most vulnerable groups. The organization promotes durable solutions for conflict-affected populations and helps to restore services, education, economic, wellbeing and health.

Job Summary:

The Project Field Coordinator will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health, and WASH interventions in Al Jawf Governorate. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in project coordination, community engagement, and a deep understanding of health and hygiene practices. This role requires effective collaboration with various stakeholders, including local communities, government officials, and partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of health, and WASH interventions, ensuring activities are carried out effectively and in accordance with project timelines.
  • Collaborate with local communities, involving them in project planning and execution. Facilitate health and WASH awareness campaigns. Establish strong relationships with local government officials, partner organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Implement a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track project progress and assess the impact of interventions.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor the quality of project activities and provide support to field staff.
  • Train and build the capacity of project staff, community health workers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of health, and WASH programs.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to the Program Manager and relevant donors.
  • Provide technical support for the implementation of health activities.
  • Supervision the training for the medical staff and community health workers, planning and implementation of relevant training especially in Infection, Prevention & Control - IPC, and Basic Life support - BLS.
  • Planning and following up with health facility staff and CHVs to reach services in a good and professional manner.
  • Submit weekly/monthly statistics and reports to the Project Manager.
  • Assist the logistician in procurement / delivering of drug/medical supply/medical equipment.
  • Provide regular supervision of supported health facility staff including data collection/records of patients.
  • Supervise and monitor the drug stock management in the supported health facilities and medical mobile team.
  • Monitor drug consumption by establishing/maintaining mechanisms of consumption record and inform the Project Manager in case of any unusual consumption.
  • Coordinate with the M&E staff as necessary to identify project`s activities quality issues.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, documenting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

  • Report any concerns about the well-being of a child or vulnerable person and report any concerns about the behavior of the organization’s representative in relation to safeguarding.

Qualifications, Experience, & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in coordinating and implementing health, and WASH projects.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power point).
  • Strong understanding of community development and participatory approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English is highly desirable.
