About MOZN:
Mozn Charitable Developmental and Social Foundation is a non-profit organization established in the year 2015 under the Yemeni Institutions and Associations Law, affiliated with the Ministry of Social affairs and Labor. It operates under permit number (63/691) within the Republic of Yemen. Since its inception, the foundation has been working to assist and develop the Yemeni society by actively contributing to the provision of essential services and humanitarian and developmental assistance through the implementation of projects and activities aimed at meeting the needs of affected communities and enhancing the diverse capacities of individuals of all genders.
Summary of the project:
The project is an emergency response for the affected IDPs and host community with shelter and NFIs interventions in Jabal Ras and Al Jarrahi districts in Al Hudaydah governorate. Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF). These areas experience extreme severity, which is made worse by ongoing conflict and recent climate events. The difficult living conditions faced by displaced families negatively impact their general well-being.
The project's main objective is to provide displaced families with timely, life-saving aid to enhance their shelter conditions. Providing emergency shelter kits and necessary non-food items (NFIs) with shelter maintenance to displaced families
Job Objective:
Ensure proper and proper implementation of construction and rehabilitation activities at field level. He will also be responsible for issuing work completion reports, documenting implementation progress, and performing day-to-day supervision of work execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Select the assets that need rehabilitation/construction/upgrading works in the targeted /areas in participation with the community members and within the available resources of the community and the project team.
- Cross-checks technical designs and project documents prepared by consultants and suggests technical improvements.
- Conducting a feasibility study of all construction works and advise on the viability of such projects.
- Prepare the technical studies for the selected assets and submit a detailed report of the required construction tools and materials, the engineering specifications, and BOQs, as well as the estimated cost, supported by the engineering designs and drawings .
- Plan project construction activities in coordination with the project officer and within the project timeline and available resources.
- Lead role in designing/reviewing/developing construction-related documents (PRs, BOQ, tender documents, and monitoring forms).
- Prepare the appropriate formats concerning construction and/or rehabilitation works such as Daily Attendance Sheet, GRNs, receipts, Weekly/Monthly achievement reports ... etc.
- Monitor technical site supervisors to ensure implementation of intended activities based on the specification mentioned in the technical studies and to make sure all required documents (attendance sheet, receiving tools and materials) are prepared duly.
- Supervise the progress of the project activities in the field in a daily basis, ensuring conformity with the required specifications and recommendations.
- Ensure project's beneficiaries and ongoing activities are adhering to all aspects of MOZN's standards including labor safety standard.
- Provide technical support and orientation for the community committees and beneficiaries.
- Ensure the documentation of the project activities before/during/after the implementation, which facilitates the implementation process without any gaps or shortcomings in the specifications.
- Comply with all relevant MOZN policies and procedures.
- Compile and write weekly, monthly progress reports, (narrative and data).
- Any other relevant duties assigned by the project manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in civil Engineer, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in field-related activities
- 3 years of experience in working with INGOs/NGOs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to work within a team
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to plan and deliver results in the field.
- Trustworthy and able to manage resources effectively.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as engineering programs (Auto CAD, Civil pro, land Development, ... etc.).
- Ability to deal with relations with local authorities as a representative of MOZN
Languages:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Arabic
