The ICRC is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of:

Cook/Housekeeper

Contract type: Fixed Term (One year contract).
Number of Posts: 1 Post
Duty Station: (Al-Dhalea City)

Purpose:

The Cook/Housekeeper provides quality and timely cooking/housekeeping services at ICRC premises.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities 

 Functional Responsibilities: 

• Prepares meals (strictly respecting hygiene principles), with minimum food waste (uses older items first). 
• Orders/purchases and manages stocks of food and non-food (e.g., cooking gas, etc.). 
• Ensures cooking equipment is in good condition (safe for use) and that the kitchen and canteen/dining hall are cleaned after each use (respecting hygiene rules). 
• provides quality and timely cooking services at ICRC premises.
• Performs all cook duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
• Informs his/her Line manager of any problems (broken/faulty material, etc.).
• Manages expenses related to food purchase.
• Ensure the kitchen is left clean after end of the day.
• The dining rooms are clean, daily emptying the dustbin is done in the dining room.
• Ensure availability of drinking water in the water dispenser in both dining rooms.
• Daily tasks include dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the rooms, kitchen, bathroom, and making beds.
• Laundry duties include washing, ironing, and maintaining clean clothing and furnishing.
• As needed, prepare rooms for visitors, and complete other tasks as requested.
• Weekly tasks include changing bedding and deep cleaning the rooms and kitchen.

Certifications/Education Required 

• Primary School education
• Basic knowledge of English

Professional Experience Required 

• 2 years working experience in a similar field.
• Candidate living & residing in Al-Dhalea city. 
• Knows and applies kitchen/cooking and hygiene principles.
