Job Title: Project Manager

Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the implementation of the project aimed at supporting smallholders, SMEs, and microfinance service providers in Marib city and Marib district in Marib Governorate. The Project Manager will work towards strengthening value chains, improving access to financial services, and enhancing economic resilience in the sesame sector. This role requires a strong focus on project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure the successful achievement of project goals. The Project Manager will play a critical role in driving the success of the project by ensuring effective coordination, implementation, and delivery of activities that support the livelihoods of smallholders and SMEs in the targeted areas. This position requires a dynamic individual with a passion for sustainable development and a commitment to making a positive change in the targeted communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project work plans for activities outlined in the project proposal.
  • Strengthen linkages between smallholders, SMEs, and MFIs in value chains.
  • Improve access to financial services for project beneficiaries.
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders, including smallholders, SMEs, financial institutions, and partner organizations.
  • Ensure timely progress reporting and submission of visibility items to donor.
  • Provide training and capacity building for smallholders, SMEs, and project beneficiaries.
  • Supervise the loans process and ensure compliance with project guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Yemen Loan Guarantee Program to support the sustainability of financing portfolios.
  • Facilitate partnerships between banks, business support services, and project beneficiaries.
  • Coordinate project activities, resources, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage project budget, expenditures, and financial reporting in compliance with donor requirements.
  • Liaise with local authorities, communities, and partner organizations to facilitate effective project delivery.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project team members, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Conduct regular project meetings, workshops, and events to engage stakeholders and communicate project updates.
  • Prepare project reports, presentations, and recommendations for project improvement.
  • Ensure that all project activities, procurement, and financial services adhere to donor and RRD procedures.
  • Oversee the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities to track project progress and outcomes.
  • Other tasks as needed and requested.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in agricultural development or value chain enhancement projects.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, preferably in the development sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial services, microfinance, and business development.
  • Experience working with smallholders, SMEs, and rural communities in developing countries.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment and with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation techniques and tools.
  • Fluency in English (knowledge of Arabic is an advantage).
