Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Field Officer (Cash Distribution), Field Assistant (Cash Distribution) will dedicate 100% of his/her time leading, coordinating and ensuring the high-quality implementation of project activities. The Field Assistant will oversee coordinating closely with all stakeholders and beneficiaries in the targeted locations and ensure the appropriate implementation of project activities in the field

Essential Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure appropriate, timely and participatory planning of program start-up activities at governorate level
  • Overall management of Cash component at governorate level: including planning, verification, registration, needs re-assessment, technical guidance, reporting, and any other task identified per the program scope and modalities.
  • Liaise with Field Officer, Area and Program teams, as well as relevant RI teams in other departments – at field and area level as relevant - in respective target areas to facilitate program implementation.
  • Ensure that RI policies and procedures are adhered to adequately 
  • Make regular field visit to the targeted areas.  
  • Ensure close coordination with project stakeholders (beneficiaries, communities, local governing authorities) throughout the project cycle. 
  • Ensure implementation of all project assessment and MEAL tools and systems, including RI’s Feedback and Complaints Mechanism (FCM), to ensure tracking of project indicators at all levels (activities, results, objectives and goal) within the program cash component.
  • Lead coordination and implementation of rapid, integrated vulnerability assessment in targeted communities.
  • Consolidate and review, under the supervision of the Field Officer (Cash distribution) beneficiaries’ databases and lists for review, verification and approval by relevant internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Review monthly monitoring reports and participate learning reflections on MEAL results
  • Oversee the development and implementation of appropriate beneficiary/community accountability mechanisms
  • Draft weekly, monthly and any other required reporting. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Diploma ’s degree in related field or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in food security programming for humanitarian projects.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in cash transfer programming.
  • Management roles preferably in complex emergency programs for INGOs.
  • Applicable knowledge working with transfer modalities and assessment 
  • Very good written English and ability to write good quality reports. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and excellent sense of organization.
  • Strong team management skills and ability to relate to and effectively motivate staff.
  • Ability to represent RI in high-level meetings with donors and local government.

  • Willing and able to work under pressure, in challenging situations, with security risks, and to manage personal stress levels
  • Able to adapt communication strategies for different situations.
  • Willing to work extra hours when needed.
  • Collaborate with other RI teams in the other RI projects to assist them in implement their activities.
