Job Title:  Civil Engineer
Location: Saudi Arabia

2- Overall Purpose:

They ensure that projects comply with regulations, are completed within budget and on schedule, and meet the required quality standards. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including architects, contractors, government agencies, and clients, to deliver successful projects.

3- Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Design: Develop conceptual designs, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects. Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and drawings using CAD software. Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects effectively.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all projects comply with relevant building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations. Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies. Stay updated on changes in regulations and incorporate them into project plans as needed.
  • Construction Oversight: Supervise construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and provide technical guidance to contractors and construction crews.
  • Cost Management: Estimate project costs accurately and develop budgets. Monitor expenditures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure cost control and identify any variances. Recommend cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure that materials and workmanship meet project requirements. Conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays, cost overruns, and other adverse impacts. Proactively address technical challenges and resolve conflicts to keep projects on track.
  • Client Relations: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and objectives. Provide regular updates on project progress, address concerns promptly, and solicit feedback to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, surveyors, and other professionals to coordinate project activities and integrate various design elements. Foster a collaborative work environment and communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, reports, and correspondence. Prepare progress reports, change orders, and other project-related documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering. Participate in professional development activities, such as training programs and conferences, to enhance skills and knowledge.

4- Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • 5 years of experience in civil engineering, Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage budgets.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and ensure project success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse and challenging environments.
  • Fluency in English.
