In Yemen, FHI 360 focuses on providing essential health, nutrition, and WASH services to local communities. FHI 360 has been operational in Yemen since March 2018, following the signing of a Principal Agreement with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC). Currently, FHI 360 is launching an integrated humanitarian response program in Mokha and Dhubab in Taiz and Khawkhah in Hudaydah.

POSITION OVERVIEW:  

FHI 360 is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) assistant under the direct supervision of the MEAL Officer, to assist in the design and implementation of MEAL activities for FHI 360 projects. The position will be responsible for providing technical assistance in project sites for data collection, reporting, and training of program staff and participants. S/he will ensure that the monitoring and evaluation of the Yemen program is consistent with donor guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:

  • Work as a member of the MEAL team on the design, strengthening, and implementation of MEAL systems, processes, and tools for FHI 360 in Yemen.
  • Assist the MEAL Officer, in correct implementation and use of monitoring and evaluation tools, and adherence to complete and timely reporting.
  • Support effective communication of monitoring and evaluation information to the MEAL team and community.
  • Conduct routine monitoring visits to field sites, to collect data on program activities, conduct data quality checks, ensure data accuracy, and assist in the preparation of health facility reports.
  • Conduct and support surveys/assessments for monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Support the preparation of project evaluation and/or review reports.
  • Ensure project activities/inputs, outputs, and outcomes are documented and all documents properly filed.
  • Enter data in the FHI 360 database and ITT and provide data reports as required.
  • Identify data shortcomings and make relevant recommendations on a regular basis.
  • Implement the Complaint, Response, and Feedback Mechanism and provide feedback as required.
  • Assist in any other MEAL-related activities/duties.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, statistics, business administration, or other relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional work experience in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience or training in monitoring and evaluation practices in public health, WASH, or related disciplines.
  • Strong data management and reporting skills, with experience in tools such as Excel, Power BI, or CommCare.
  • Proficiency with database management.
  • Solid understanding of project cycle management and MEAL.
  • Eloquent, professional, and able to communicate in a clear positive manner with the stakeholders and staff.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, identify errors, and prepare reports.
  • Proficiency in English language
