Background

 HYAC has been providing relief and development services in Yemen since 1990. Using right-based approaches, HYAC has mainly focused on internally displaced People by conflict and natural disasters. Programs include WASH, protection, Food security/livelihoods, construction/ rehabilitation, health, shelter and education. HYAC has 6 main offices in Sana’a, Aden, Hodeida, Taiz, hudramount and Socotra as a several sub-offices throughout Yemen.  In response to the humanitarian needs and the resulting increase of conflict affected population in Yemen, HYAC is seeking the services of a qualified Enumerators to support our emergency response.

Job Title: Enumerators

Location:  (Lahj, Al-hudidah and Mukha (8))

Contract:  fixed term Contract

Duration: One year with possibility of extension

Enumerators Duties and Responsibilities

•  Detect, counsel and follow up on individual cases identified during assessments or referred internally or by other agencies, and assess their needs for material assistance;
• Conduct needs assessment of the cases referred from the Protection Monitors;
• Conduct assessments of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioural, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well-being;
• Conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases;
• Refer cases internally for assistance, and discuss the cases with the Supervisor;
• Under the supervision of the Supervisor, ensure coordination with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow-up, and information sharing;
• Ensure that data protection protocol is respected and ensure to keep complete and well-organized records;
• Provide daily updates to the Supervisor about new cases assessed;
• Participate in daily staff and internal meetings led by Supervisor;
• Maintain confidentiality at all times and conduct all activities respectfully and in a way that is sensitive to the psychosocial needs of the case.
• Commit to participate to any other task in order to achieve the project overall objective;
• Always ensure confidentiality and conduct all activities respectfully and sensitively to beneficiaries and staff.
• Maintain any other tasks directed by the supervisor

Enumerators Skills and Specifications

• High school’s diploma degree
• Experience in community mobilization
• 2 years community work experience, preferably related to the type of project
• Able to travel to remote rural area including overnight staying.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication verbally and in writing as well as inter-personal skills
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly to field sites
• Become conversant with the various generic tools such as assessment and survey techniques and questionnaires.
• Ability to identify potential problems before they occur. Proactive in preparation and uses initiative in response
