ABOUT NAMA’A MICRO-FINANCE FOUNDATION: 

Namaa Microfinance Foundation (NMFF) is a non-profit organization that was established in October 2000 with a mission to promote sustainability, growth, and economic empowerment. The foundation offers a wide range of financial and non-financial services to individuals and groups in various sectors, including agriculture, livestock, trading companies, and more, through its thirteen branches. 

One of the most significant projects undertaken by NMFF is the initiative to improve the livelihoods of refugees. This project is funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and focuses on training and building the capabilities of refugees. Through this project, NMFF provides essential support to refugees, helping them to acquire new skills, build sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to the local economy. NMFF is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of refugees and to promoting social and economic development in the communities it serves.

TASK AND DUTIES:

  • plan, prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes and age groups
  • prepare and set tests, examination papers and exercises
  • mark and provide appropriate feedback on oral and written work
  • devise, write and produce new materials, including audio and visual resources
  • organise and get involved in social and cultural activities such as sports competitions, school parties, dinners and excursions
  • attend and contribute to training sessions
  • participate in marketing events for the language school
  • prepare information for inspection visits and other quality assurance exercises
  • undertake administrative tasks, such as keeping student registers and attendance records. 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in English Language or English Literature, or a higher Diploma in English Language or a related field. 
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in teaching English, preferably in a refugee or humanitarian context. 
  • Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CertTESOL) or any relevant certificate. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
