Position Summary

Under overall supervision of Project Coordinator, the Assistant Engineer will be responsible of managing the implementation of project activities in the targeted district. The AE will represent the project in targeted district and be in charge of all coordination with project partners and stakeholders

Essential Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be responsible for the registration teams in targeted district and manage activities in identifying and verifying the most vulnerable families.
  • Liaise with the district authorities, leaders and local community.
  • Supervise the sub-office team and cooperate with logistics assistant and the finance and admin assistant in order to facilitate the field activities.
  • Supervise the needed purchases and maintenance of the FFA. 
  • Manage the work of verification assistants, security guards, storekeepers and other support laborers. 
  • Oversee the whole food for assist processes in the targeted district. 
  • Manage to inform the beneficiaries of distribution dates and locations.
  • Facilitate orientation and training to field teams.
  • Monitor and ensure quality provision of commodities. 
  • Liaise with other organizations or entities working in the field in FFA.
  • Submit daily, weekly and monthly reports as required to cover all field activities.
  • Perform other relevant assignments as assigned by the Project Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • University degree in Engineering ,Social Science, Business or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in the field and working with local communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to reporting with gender disaggregated data.
  • Excellent computer skills particularly in Microsoft Applications.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian situation particularly related to food insecurity.
  • Strong knowledge of the assigned districts and rural communities with willingness to travel locally to follow-up on implementation as required.
  • Ability to perform under pressure. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Willing and able to work under pressure, in challenging situations, with security risks, and to manage personal stress levels
  • Able to adapt communication strategies for different situations.
  • Willing to work extra hours when needed.
  • Collaborate with other RI teams in the other RI projects to assist them in implement their activities.
