In Yemen, JSI has been managing public health programs since 1988, focusing on improving child health and routine immunization, strengthening the supply chain, and improving reproductive, maternal, and newborn health.
Project Overview
The Strengthening Healthcare Access project is a five-year USAID-funded initiative aimed at enhancing access to and equitable utilization of evidence-based maternal, newborn, and child health; nutrition; family planning; and reproductive health (MNCHN/FP/RH) services in Yemen. Led by JSI, the project collaborates with partners to employ a community-led strategy encompassing demand generation, supply-side reinforcement, and enabling environment support. Through engagement with midwives, community reproductive health volunteers, and community structures, the project will create awareness, facilitate access, and enhance care quality.
Position Description:
The cleaner positions for the Yemen MOMENTUM Round will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of JSI offices and facilities in Yemen. This will include tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, taking out the trash, and cleaning bathrooms. Cleaners will also be responsible for maintaining the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sweep and mop floors & clean service restrooms with mops and disinfectants;
- Clean windows, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees;
- Dust furniture, walls, equipment and scrub all surfaces clean;
- Keep a check on cleaning materials and re-order via the manager;
- Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping and cleaning surfaces;
- Identify and report possible repairs, maintenance issues, or security issues;
- Provide drinks “tea & coffee” to staff upon request;
- Any other duties & tasks assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum secondary school
- Experience 1 year in a similar position
- Work independently & within a team
- Diligent in work processes
- Flexible in schedule, attitude and work prioritization
