Position Status: Full-Time Job -Thirty-Five hours a week   

Location: Sana'a - Aden

About SMEPS:

(SMEPS) The Small and Micro Enterprises Promotion Services Agency is a subsidiary of the Social Fund for Development (SFD) and it was established in 2006.

SMEPS scope of work is in 3 main components, Business Development, Value Chain Analysis, and Entrepreneurship. Providing non-financial facilities and small business development services through innovative and creative projects that help the growth of the activities in this sector.
SMEPS main office is in Sanaa with two other branches in (Aden - Al Mukalla),

Objective:

To support the successful implementation of SMEPS agricultural, livestock, and fisheries livelihood programs through effective field-level coordination, monitoring, and reporting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, fisheries science, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in project management, community development, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural, livestock, and fisheries practices in rural contexts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Mobilization and Preparation:

  • Implement community mobilization processes for project activities, collaborating with local authorities and ensuring adherence to established beneficiary selection standards.
  • Register targeted beneficiaries within the designated geographical area, conducting field surveys and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist in the selection and training of field teams, equipping them with necessary knowledge and skills for efficient activity implementation.

Field Monitoring and Support:

  • Follow up on periodic reports submitted by field engineers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Review reports accompanied by photos, videos, data, and success stories, identifying key indicators and potential issues for further consideration by the Project Officer.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field teams, addressing challenges and promoting effective implementation of agricultural, livestock, and fisheries practices.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Submit clear and concise weekly and monthly progress reports to the Project Officer, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain open communication with field teams, beneficiaries, and relevant stakeholders, facilitating information exchange and resolving concerns.

Administrative and Logistical Support:

  • Manage project contracts for consultants, ensuring clear terms and timely execution.
  • Monitor disbursement requests submitted by the field team to the financial department, verifying accuracy and facilitating timely delivery to beneficiaries.
  • Print and archive project documents, maintaining organized and accessible records.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to training programs for field teams and beneficiaries, focusing on best practices and program requirements.
  • Participate in field visits as directed by the Project Officer, providing on-site support and supervision.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable, readily taking on additional tasks related to project needs within the SMEPS livelihood program framework.
